From the School Hallway to Private Practice

For over 20 years, I walked the halls of K–12 schools right here in Guilford County. As a School Counselor, I saw firsthand the heavy backpacks children carry—not just filled with books, but with anxiety, social pressure, and unvoiced fears.

I loved my time in education, but I often felt the limitations of the school day. I wanted to go deeper. I wanted to create a space where I could support not just the student, but the whole person and the whole family without the bell ringing to end the session.

I founded Creative Counseling Works to be that space. I bring my two decades of educational experience into the therapy room, offering a unique perspective for families navigating the school system, IEPs, and the social dynamics of growing up today. But I also bring a passion for helping adults rediscover their voice after years of putting everyone else first.

Who I Help

How We Will Work Together

Therapy is not "one size fits all." My style is collaborative and strength-based. I believe you already possess the inner strength needed to heal; my job is to help you find it.

My Core Methodologies:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Interrupting negative thought loops and replacing them with data-driven reality.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring how your past shapes your present patterns.
  • Family Systems: Understanding your role within the household. See our family counseling approach.
  • Couples Work: Helping partners communicate. See our couples counseling services.
